Slipping by September

Short update, as things keep getting away from me!

I think I am within touching distance of finishing a short story I mentioned months ago (VVV) that will hopefully be getting passed around some of my colleagues before I figure out if it’s going on the scribbles site or if I’m going to tuck it on Patreon as an exclusive or try and find a published home for it or what, so that’s good.

I’m taking a serious look at repurposing some of the material I wrote for QtB way back as a novella, most likely to be serialized online… but that needs me to do some serious text-engineering and looking at where I can take scaffolding out and put in new foundations, that sort of thing.

In practical terms, a lot of the past month got eaten with life admin – errands, dealing with paperwork, getting in an exercise bike and attempting to turn using it into a routine, reviewing written material I have on hand… a lot of ‘getting back on the horse’ stuff. But. Week by week I’m managing to get more hours in front of the keyboard.

I’m happy about that, even if the hours aren’t quite turning into the fiction I want it to, yet. So far, of the material I’ve shared from last month there’s some stuff I’ve been putting together for the TTRPG ( https://scribbles.malcolmfcross.com/three-versions-of-the-little-match-girl.html ) and an example of talking to myself about some of the writing problems I’ve been having ( https://scribbles.malcolmfcross.com/talking-out-quiet-talking-to-myself-about-action-scenes.html ).

It is now silly late in the evening and I need to get in my exercise bike time, so, imma do that, and hopefully catch up with you all soon!
